Digital patterns: licence and refunds
Last updated: October 2026
1. How you receive your pattern
After payment you will receive an email with a link to download your pattern in PDF format. If you don't receive it within a few minutes, check your spam folder or write to hello@thewoolcatcher.com.
2. Refunds
If a pattern is not what you expected, you can request a refund within 14 calendar days of purchase, without giving any reason, by writing to hello@thewoolcatcher.com with your order number. We will refund you using the same payment method within a maximum of 14 days. After the refund, your licence to use the pattern ends.
If the pattern contains errors, our Legal guarantee also applies: we will correct it and send you the updated version.
3. Licence
When you buy a pattern you acquire a personal, non-transferable licence to use it. Copyright in the pattern, its texts, charts and photographs belongs to The Woolcatcher.
You may:
- Download, print and use the pattern for your personal use.
- Knit the garments and accessories in the pattern for yourself or as gifts.
- Sell finished items that you have knitted by hand yourself, in small-scale handmade production, crediting The Woolcatcher as the pattern designer (for example, "Pattern: The Woolcatcher").
You may not:
- Copy, share, forward, publish or sell the pattern or any part of it, in print or digital form, or upload it to the internet or social media groups.
- Translate the pattern or publish modified versions without our permission.
- Use the pattern for industrial or mass production.
- Use our photographs to sell finished items.
If you would like to use a pattern for classes, workshops or any use not covered here, please write to us.
